Teaching
Michael Evans has enjoyed teaching drum students of all ages for many years. His full-length solo children’s show was presented at Roulette in 2008. He has taught drums and percussion for the Brooklyn Philharmonic, at an Achievement First elementary school in Queens, and at public schools all over NY state with Skip LaPlante’s Music for Homemade Instruments and with Ken Butler. He led a drumming workshop for children at the Chocolate Factory, and has taught at the Electric Eclectics festival in Meaford, Canada for 5 years. As an active and versatile performing musician on the downtown scene and abroad, he welcomes students of rock, blues, jazz, and world genres.
Private lessons are available at his convenient downtown Brooklyn studio, or at your home. Please contact Michael at meswirls@earthlink.net to make an appointment.
