Michael Evans was also aÂ gourmetÂ chef and baker. He cooked at many Boston and NYC vegan restaurants, festivals, events and for friends recoveringÂ theirÂ health.Â He became a vegetarian at age 17, and developed his own creative approach to cooking. Cooking tools were featured in his percussion set-ups,Â and he cooked in some of his performances. He fed theÂ audience at MESH salons in Brooklyn.Â He performed as a cook in Fast Forwardâ€™s Feeding FrenzyÂ at the Kitchen in NYC in 2000, and with cookingÂ implements inÂ Fast Forwardâ€™s Musique A La ModeÂ at Sophiensaele Theatre, Berlin, Germany in 2009. He was the resident cook for performing artists at the Electric Eclectics Festival in Meaford, Canada for 14 years, in addition to performing himself. The second edition of his hand-written cookbookÂ â€œRecipes for Lifeâ€Â is in process and will beÂ availableÂ soon.
